Soft egg

Yes probably..But she has now layed soft eggs for 1 week, everyday🙄 And it make her look exhausted..
I m worried about peritonitis..Does anyone have any advice how to help her?
I have given her some homeopathy remedies..And some calsium in her wather..
She is a light sussex and only 9 mnds old..She layed eggs for 11 weeks before broody, and she was totally healthy then

Let us know how she gets along. Has she ever had an egg break inside her that you know of? That is a risk along with egg bound when laying shell-less eggs.

Yes unfortunately she has..At least twice..I m hoping she will pick up and go back to normally..She is so young to get problems like this..She is so sweet and peaceful, called Ethel

Ethel the hen who started laying soft egg after being broody, has no totally stopped laying eggs?
She goes to the nesting box and lay there for a while. She do her egg song and looks very happy.. But there is no egg? Does anyone understand this behaviour?

They can lay internally when the egg reverses course and goes back into the abdomen. The egg material may build up and there can be masses and layers of egg material, and possibly a bacterial infection.I had a hen once who would go into a nest every other day, come out a half hour later, and do the egg song, but never laid an egg. That is called a false layer I think. When I lose a hen, I always open the belly after death, just to see what the organs look like. It can help to understand all of the reproductive disorders they can suffer. When hens have reproductive problems and suffer, the best thing is for them to stop laying. The are hormone implants that some vets can give them to stop.
