soft eggs

we have 3 reds 2 girls and a tom our girls have pretty much stopped laying i did find a couple of soft eggs on the ground in there coop and the girls feathers are looking pretty rough is this caused by molting?

If they are older than a year they will begin to molt this time of year. Hens will stop laying and occasionally lay soft eggs as the system is shutting down.

they were a year in april so that could explain it ..thank you very much!
