One of our 2 chickens has been laying mottled then soft eggs. We’ve tried meal worms and oyster shells crushed small. Any other ideas?

Meal worms won't fix anything since they are treats, and can actually make things worse. Are they eating layer feed?
Thank you. We’ve coated the meal worms in calcium😊 yes they have layer feed but they do make a mess of it and I don’t know how much they’re eating. She seems happy this morning and is self grooming so I hope that’s a good sign.

It might just be a hiccup in production, or a faulty shell gland which can't be helped. as long as she's acting normal, I wouldn't worry too much . :]

I give my chickens shredded cheddar cheese occasionally since it has calcium. And some vegetables with good sources of calcium along with there layer feed.

They stopped nibbling at the oyster shells. I never had shell issues.
