My 16 month old leghorn laid a perfectly normal egg this morning in her usual box at her usual time. This evening I noticed she was walking slowly while she pecked about the yard. She just didn’t respond to me normally, a bit odd. I did not see her lay the soft shelled egg but the chicks she was out with are too young (14 weeks). The chicks were eating it as I walked up so I did not see the complete egg. There was a yolk and clear albumin. The shell was like a white deflated balloon. Any ideas? I would appreciate your feedback/advice.

Sounds like a calcium deficiency, get some crushed oyster shells. Most feed stores carry it for just such purposes.
