Soft Shell Eggs

My girls are about 17.5 weeks and they are starting to lay. I have 7 girls and one rooster. I got our first egg on Sunday, which was a good egg with a nice shell. Yesterday and this morning I have gotten 4 soft shell eggs. I feed out of a five gallon bucket and still had some grower left so I mixed the layena and grower together. Should I be concerned that I am getting so many soft shell eggs? Did I make a mistake by mixing the two feeds? I also put out oyster shells on Monday.

Egg laying is stressing this Newbie out!! Lol

Sounds to me like you are doing everything right. Hopefully, their systems haven't quite learned how to do their part yet. Odd eggs are much more common when they first start to lay than later on.
