Well my tardy ladies all have apparently decided to start laying, but they are all laying soft shells. I found one under the roost and three others in the run yesterday. This morning there was one under the roost. I'm assuming it would take multiple hens to lay 4 in one day. I have 5 hens.
They are eating good layer mix, some free range, and have access to oyster shell, with limitted goodies. One hen has been laying nice eggs for almost two weeks as has at least one duck so it's not lack off calcium in their diet.
How long do I let them lay softies before I start worrying it's a problem instead of just starting up?
they are 23 weeks old.
