Have a hen that started laying soft shell eggs last week or so.. she was my first to start laying a couple of months ago and today I seen her lay a soft shell followed by a no shell ?? They typically free range but they do have access to feed with oyster shell in their run.. should I be concerned ?

Is your feed layer feed? Or are you feeding Flock Raiser or chick starter which doesn't have enough calcium?

I have to mix my oyster shell in, since I feed org. chick starter mixed with grains and seeds. If I don't they give me soft shells, even if I have a pan of oyster shell sitting around.
