My 16 month old leghorn laid a perfect egg this morning. Then this evening right before roost time she was acting a bit odd just not her usual self, she went in the coop early. I went to round up the chicks (14 weeks old too young to lay) and found them eating the inside (a good looking yolk and albumin) of a egg. Any ideas?

Thanks for the input. My treats are quality treats BUT I am guilty of giving TOO much. This morning I cut way back on the portion size and I promised my chicks that I would not be the one to kill them with kindness. Guess what, they all still love me the same lol. My leghorn is acting normal and is in the egg box right now. Your reply makes perfect sense thanks again.
