Soft shelled egg

[Golden Egger]

One of my RIRs has a part of a soft shelled egg hanging from her vent. It looks sort of like a deflated balloon. Will she pass it or is there something I should do? She is fine otherwise. She is getting plenty of calcium and grit so her diet is not the problem.

So strange, I have not seen this. You could maybe soak her bum in warm water to see if it will come out. Is she a new layer?

This can be common, so I would remove it. The others hens may remove it if you don't. She has had a soft egg break inside. These can be common in new layers. Hopefully, it won't happen again.
