Soft shelled eggs continuously

I have 9 layers currently. One of them started laying paper-thin-chalky shells a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to figure out why. Today, another hen layed a thin-shelled egg.... different color shell so I know it's now two hens. I give 9 hens and two roosters about one cup (8 oz) scratch every day. Would that be considered 'excessive'?? If cutting out the scratch will help, I'll give it a go, but what's the 'right' amount for that many birds? I want them to have something to do in there every day other than sex or picking on each other out of boredom.

They are also on layer feed and oyster shell.
