Soft-shelled Eggs!

Yes you can also give her a lukewarm bath soaking but what is your weather like? I wouldn’t bring a duck in side for a lukewarm bath and then put them back outside if it’s freezing temperatures. You would have to do it gradually sometimes I bring a duck in from the cold and put her in a room that is about 20 to 30° warmer than it was outside before I bring her up to the bathtub where it’s another 20 to 30° warmer then I let her completely dry off and spend some time in the cold room before going back outside. We don’t want temperature shock so just do the calcium gluconate first you can give her one ML a day for a few days.
We’re in Alabama, so not in the bad winter storm, but also up against a major cold front, so I think you’re absolutely right about her not appreciating the warm soak and then freezing outside!! Thank you so much for the advice!!!

How many days would you suggest giving her the medicine?

Look at the picture in the link I gave you it shows exactly where to put the syringe face to face it's the left side just like in the picture. if your standing behind her it's her right side.

How is she today?

Ohhh okay, I wasn’t accounting for not being face to face with her!! The writing said on the “right” side, but the picture showed the left, so I was confused! Silly me, thank you!!

PRAISE THE LORD, just from observing she seems to be acting more like herself. :love I’m headed out with a dose right now, please pray for me! I’ll take pictures of the pretty little critter!

Well, I’m out here with her med and she is currently sitting on the nest!! I’m not really sure why, it’s 3:30 here, so kind of a strange time to be on the nest if she is laying, isn’t it?

You think she maybe showing signs of being broody? How many eggs has she laid total? It won't hurt to give her the calcium gluconate on the nest of get her off of it. Maybe she is trying to lay and can't so giving her the Cal glu will hopefully help. It is very hard for us to say what it could be since we aren't there to see exactly what is going on.

She may be! I’m really not sure her total egg count, but I would say 10-12. The strange part is, the first 3 eggs were PERFECT! Fully formed, beautiful huge eggs. But after that, they have all been soft shelled… When she came off of the nest today, I didn’t see any eggs under her.
Giving her the medicine was an adventure to say the least! I’m pretty sure her neck is a mile long! But I do think she got at least most of the medicine!

And I totally understand not being able to say exactly what it is without seeing it!! That’s like trying to fix someone else’s car from another state while they’re telling you “it’s making a clinking noise” 😂😂 not too much to go off of!

But I really do appreciate y’all helping me, and trying to conclude what’s going on from my bits of info!
She was eating and drinking good today, so that is a blessing!!! I’m praying the medicine helps her, and that’s she starts laying her pretty (and huge) eggs again!!

She may not lay again till spring so don't get too worried if she doesn't as long as she is eating drinking and acting like a normal goose [if there is such a thing as a normal goose]
And hopefully before she starts back laying she will eat the oyster shell.
As for her neck being a mile long lol I'm sure it seemed that way when trying to give her the meds.

Let us know how she is doing.
