Hey peeps,

One of my RSL, Peg, has been laying soft eggs off the roost for the last 5 days. She is about 22 weeks and until Tuesday laid a large or double-yolked egg every day for about 2 weeks--then this. We are having really hot weather here, but have been for well over a month. My other birds are laying fine, I feed Dumor layer pellets, provide oyster shell in the feed and they free range almost all day.

I read that it's not unusual while their systems ramp up, but I wonder how long until she starts laying normally again. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have no idea, but I have two girls doing the same thing, so I am anxiously awaiting an answer to your question!

Good news, Peg laid a normal egg in the last hour. I wonder if one of the others is laying soft ones too. I've found 6 soft ones since Tuesday.
