One of my BSS passed two soft shelled eggs while roosting last night the egg shells feel rubbery, please see photo! My hens are free roam 24/7 with calci and calcium fortified laying pellets as well! What could this be from and what can I do?

How old are they? Young or old hens sometimes do that. Try offering them crushed oyster shells, if you don't already, because the food might not be enough. You could also crush up (normal) eggshells, and I've read that it could either promote egg cannibalism, or stop it. What I have read is that if a bird breaks an egg when you feed it eggshells, they could eat it, because they recognize it as food, or not eat it, because they already gets eggshells, or just ignore it. Also, I recommend getting some other advice, because I don't actually own chickens yet, I'm getting them in April, but I still strongly recommend oyster shells, because they are good for the chickens and provide calcium, and work for all of my other friends who own chickens. Good luck!
