Our hens have been excellent egg layers. They have access to oyster shell, quality scratch and they are free range. However today I found my first soft shell egg. I've read this is common for younger hens, but my girls are almost 3 years old ... I guess about middle age. Could this be just a fluke? OR can we expect additional issue due to age?
