soft shells.

i have bought some crushed oyster shells as 1 of my 4 hens is laying good solid eggs. another hen is laying an egg but is soft and whole or flattened. i have cut the bottom of a 2ltr pop bottle (approx 3inchs highe) & filled with the shells.
when its empty do i keep filling up or leave a gap between?

Keep it filled, they will self regulate.
