soft shells

How soon after feeding them oyster shells will their eggs have a harder shell? Also, I thought that the feed had enough oyster shell in it to make their eggs have a hard shell, it that a misconception? Appreciate any thoughts on these questions

You should notice a difference in a week or two. Their feed alone does not have enough calcium to make eggshells. Just think...they make a whole shell inside of them almost daily!

There is enough calcium in most layer feeds for MOST chickens. Some just need more.
