We recently started building our coop (its not fully finished yet) it has been raining on and off for the last week and a half, the floor inside is getting pretty wet, it gets flooded during the end of the night and this morning when we put them down I noticed the ground was still squishy, is the wet ground going to hurt their feet, any ideas to help fix it?

TIA

Nah,it depends. Are any chicks? It's bad for chicks to get wet,but it won't hurt adults at all.The chicks are smart enough to stay and perch on things if they don't like the felling of something.

They are 10 weeks old, hopefully that is old enough that it wont hurt them?

When I built my coop,I set down landscape timbers and built it on top of them. I built up dirt so that water runs off,so no soggy floor. One thing you could do is to put pea gravel on the ground about 2-4" deep, with straw on top. I use 1 bale in a 16'x8' coop.

Sand works well for keeping the footing area a little drier, several inches would raise it above ground level and give your birds a nice surface to scratch on and dust bathe in.
