i have tried to set up solar power to keep the water from freezing. i have 3 12 volt panels a converter and a , i forgot what they called it. it keeps from over power, and a marine battery. it keeps going into alarm. the defroster is 150 volts. help

defroster is 150 volts or watts?
You can't get 150 volts out of a solar setup.
The voltage of all components need to be the same unless you have a 12 volt to 120 volt inverter.

I would like to add that generating heat with electricity is a major energy hog.
What is your climate like? That will tell if this is possible. It would be difficult to keep water thawed from a 12 volt battery in N Minnesota.

sorry. its 150 watts. i live in tn. not real cold some times its freezing.the battery is a marine battery. my coop is to far for electricity from my house

A photo of your setup may help or links to the parts you used. Also put your location in your account so you get better faster answers. Makes a big difference if your in Alaska or Alabama... never lived in Alabama but know first hand how cold it gets in Alaska.
