Sold 72 guinea keets today!

I was so afraid that I was going to be overrun with more guineas than I was already but yesterday I got a phone call from a man who wanted to buy all my keets...all 72 of them! Wooohooo!! I have about a half dozen eggs in an incubator that a Mama guinea left behind when she abandoned her nest but boy 6 will be a whole lot easier to take care of than 72!!

Chances are he'll take them to a sale and sell them for five bucks a piece.

He's probably going to resell them. But I got $3.25 a piece for them and peace of mind that I no longer have to change brooders twice day and all that food, mealworms and crickets they were eating!! WHOA!!!!

Well we had an explosion of guinea eggs so to speak. LOL We started out with 16 one year old guineas this year, from eggs we hatched out last year. They went crazy with egg laying! 16 guineas produced literally hundreds of eggs!!

We sold about 12 dozen on ebay, we hatched out 12 dozen, Mama Guineas hatched out 5 or 6 dozen, plus we sold eggs from our farm, not sure how many, hubby has the log book with him. I have 2 mother guineas both still sitting on nests and a half dozen eggs in one incubator from an abandoned nest.

This is a huge relief to sell all those keets at once.

We most certainly do love our guineas here!!!
