I bought two little ducklings to keep my older Pekin duck company and now that they are growing and getting feathers they are getting brown on them. I thought maybe a runner but they don’t walk like a runner and walk more like a Pekin. They are from TSC. What could they be?

If they were a more solid fawn color I would think buff or golden 300, but they look like they have white patches which makes me think a fawn and white runner cross.

Edit: This spring my husband was at Tractor Supply and they had a bin labeled as Pekins. He thought he saw some fawn and white runners in the mix (I love runners) so he brought them home for me and sure enough they were all fawn and white runners that were mistaken for Pekins.

I’m guessing those are Buffs, keep us posted if you get a definitive answer!

I am fairly certain though are Buffs, maybe have some runner mixed in there, but they are much too solid colored to be fawn and white runners, and to light to be Kahaki Campbells, the coloring is pure Buff but the face is a bit runner. Here is a pic of my buff's for comparison!

I think that your ducks have at least one fawn&white runner parent. What color were they as ducklings? Any distinctive markings?

They were yellow with brown faces like masks. The man told me they were just dirty and I told him I was pretty sure that was a marking and not dirt and he said “maybe they are just ugly ducklings” 😂😂
