I don't really have a need for buttons, but I REALLY want to see how little they are.

How do you find out about regulations in regards to turning them loose in the wild? I live at the foothills of mountains and have lots of great areas around for them. Is that legal??

It is illegal in our country to release non-native animals into the wild. Button Quail are originally from China so not native to us at all. They also would not be equipped to live on their own after being raised in captivity and would be predator bait right away.

If you want to see them go see some at someones house or a bird show
To release them in the wild would not only illegal it would be more then cruel to the poor little birds

The DNR in your state would give you a hugh fine!

Yeah,
It would not be good to release these.
It would be like turning out a pet parakeet.
