We have some sneezing chickens and a few have crusties on their nostrils, will soluble vitamin D3 work? The ingredients say "D-activated animal sterol (source of vitamin D3) and citric acid" should we use this or buy some antibiotics at the feed store?

Tylan 50 or 200 cattle inject able is about the best over counter for respiratory in chickens. Note - many chicken illnesses are easily spread and can affect the chicken for life, take precautions when treating "sick" birds.

Ok well, how would I go about giving it to them? Inject it? I've vaccinated birds before with this thing that looked like two straight fish hooks dipped in the vaccine then poked through the skin under the wing, is it the same kind of thing?

No, that was for Fowl pox. You can inject it just under the skin where it is loose at where neck meets shoulders. 1/4 cc for bantams, 1/2 cc for LF , do this for 3 days.
