I hate mud! At our last house, the rain gutters dumped right into a low spot in the yard and dogs would play in it. Awful! I went to Lowes and bought a length of that bendy black drainage piping, duct taped it right onto the downspout, and redirected it outside of the yard to run off harmlessly down the hill. It was awesome, and about $20.
Those square concrete 12x12 pavers are about $1 at Lowes new. Sometimes you see them used for $0.50 or better. We've accumulated a lot of them too, to use as walkways. I also use them to elevate waterers to keep the birds from kicking dirt into them, and to weight down my plastic tote nest boxes. Quite handy!
What's a species of grass that grows like a weed? Hardy, drought resistant, can handle some dogs walking on it?
