Hi all,

(I have included as much information as possible.)
Today my chickens all started to twitch their heads. The transformation has been remarkable from no twitching to twitching.
I have four Isa Browns, estimated around 10-14 days old and they all drink, eat and defecate regularly and normally. They all have access to a heat light (90F directly under) and have plenty of space around where it is cooler.
I'm reaching out today because head twitching seems to be really common on the internet but I haven't found a topic about all baby chicks starting at the same time.
I've done a brief physical examination and to a very novice and untrained eye nothing looks up. Skin looks ok, no obvious bugs or inflamed areas. Vent area seems clear.
I use paper towels/puppy pea pads as their bedding.

Today it was quite warm (80 Fahrenheit) and very loud. It's Easter so everyone is gawking in and making loud noises. Is twitching a normal response to stress?
If anyone has any ideas, or if its just normal, please let me know!

I have some videos (the background noise is really loud...)
All four twitching:

Thank you for taking the time to look. I'm sorry if its just normal - its just not a comforting sight!

Are they doing it constantly? I’m wondering if the noise in your house is new to them.... all those people around? If they are not lethargic and they are eating and drinking, they should be fine.
Hi,

The noise has stopped and they have almost stopped the twitching. The noise and activity today was very high so I guess its understandable for them to react that way.
Your reassurance is appreciated - I've never raised baby chicks so don't have a normal to compare to and having a welcoming place like this is really beneficial! Thank you.

You’re welcome! I’ve raised chickens twice a year for five years - chickens are one of the most highly predated species; their hearing is fine tuned to pick up in danger. Having never been exposed to racket, they were probably just wondering what was going on. They will calm down as they get older. Enjoy your babies!
