New to the site, so sorry if this has already been discussed.
What are people's experience with different breeds eggs through the post?
I have been buying eggs all summer for my incubators and have found that certain breeds are either consistently good, or consistently poor, I have been using different suppliers.
If I collect the eggs, there is no difference between breeds,
It seams the postal system suits some breeds better,
What are the best breeds, in your opinion

Hmmm, good question. I'm guessing as long as the hen has a good calcium source all eggs should be okay, because the strength of the eggshell is affected by the calcium content of their food. What breeds are you thinking of getting? Here is a link to an article that shows factors influencing eggshell quality: http://www.thepoultrysite.com/articles/1003/factors-influencing-shell-quality/ It doesn't look like breed really matters. My orpingtons, barred rocks, and rhode island red's tend to have the strongest eggs.

It's not a problem with them breaking in the post, it the fertility that's affected

I have found friesian fowl travel very well, with an 85% hatch rate, while araucanas are terrible with less than 10%
