Some chickens didn’t go in at night

I have over 6 week old chickens and they were moved from the brooder to the coop almost 2 weeks ago. I just let them out in to the run today as I just finished it. I have a Ladies First automatic door. Once it got dark, I went out to make sure they made it in. About half were huddled together outside. But even more disheartening is the door was closed and two chickens got their heads stuck in the door and all I could see was 2 heads sticking out. I immediately opened the door and they seemed to be ok. Supposedly the door stops when something is in the way but I guess it doesn’t go back up. I am going to have to check every night that no chickens are stuck in the door. Is there something I need to do to make sure they all go in at night? This is my first flock.

How is the door operated? Timer or light sensor? Can you adjust the closing time to be later? Like, really late, to make sure there are no chickens left outside. And yeah if this is their first time outside, they won't know to go back in on their own. You'll have to manually put them in until they figure it out.
