And yes the other lil roo that you see in the second pic is an easter egger. Of course he was labeled as ameraucana, along with his siblings, but I knew that he wasnt as soon as he started to get bigger. Thats ok though, he still is quite cute with good color. He will soon join the ranks with Winston, my other full grown Rooster you see with my daughter.
The others in the pics are hens of red sex link and blue/black/splash orpingtons, as well as som blue/black/splash orp roos and some polish hens, and bantum brahmas. I have quite the mix going on!
I have 2 brand new coops that my hubby just built to house my blue orps. Right now they are all in the same pen together (the young ones). Winston and his girls got a pen and coop all their own.
I will be breeding blue orps next year, hoping to improve my line, and to breed to the standard. So we will see how it goes, right now i have alot of roos in the bunch of orps, however I am not sure which ones i want to keep just yet. I figure i will wait till they get big enough for their own qualities to shine thru and go from there.
