Some hens not using Hen Hydrator

Two of my hens must be using it, but the other three aren't. When I let them out of the house in the morning, three run to the water bowl in the paddock and drink like crazy. The other two ignore the bowl. The Hydrator is hung in the house at the proper height, and all have access to it.

Have they always had the hydrator? If it’s a new thing then they might be confused

Are you sure they're not using it? I know my chickens know how to use their waterer, but show them a nasty mud puddle or a dripping wet fence and they run to it like it's made of pure gold.

It is new, less than a week old. Funny about the nasty puddle!

If there's enough muddy puddles mine don't touch the waterer at all, sometimes for days.

Best way to figure out if your chickens are actually using their waterer is to just sit and watch, when possible. Since chickens like to copy one another if you can catch one drinking, stick around to see if the others are lining up to drink as well.
