I have been raising chickens for a couple of years now but am suddenly faced with the decision of how to mix my 11 week old hens with my 17 month old flock. Any suggestions for a smooth transition?[IMG][IMG]

I would make sure they can see eachother through wire for a week or so that way they can get use to eachother a little before you put them together. I would give treats for all and try and ease them into living together.

Watch for any open wounds or blood so you can remove an injured hen if this happens before she gets hurt too bad. Sometimes when re-establishing a pecking order they can get very picky at eachother.

Just monitor them closely and you will be fine.
