I think Scooby and Shaggy both had some accordion blood. Its most noticeable when they eat sandwiches, the neck will stretch in a certain way.

I think I'm a bit confused - you said he was a blue merle? I thought that the color is classified as a harlequin. I might be wrong, but I think the blue merle classificaiton is in aussies, daushands and such.

Merle and Harlequin are two separate recognized colors in Great Danes.

Well, actually, in Danes they don't classify merle according to color (Blue merle, fawn merle, etc) they are just classified as Merle...which would have been sufficient, but he is blue. Harlequin is white with black spots. Merle is, of course, whatever color with coordinating spots. Not a showable color in Danes but certainly a legitimate and recognized color.

I am almost positive that Shaggy is a designer dog of some sort. Maybe a nonsense or something?

I honestly wouldn't have been the least bit offended if he had simply asked and said "Oh, I haven't seen that color" or something. It was the "I don't think so" part I was irritated by. Kinda like when a woman followed me around the grocery insisting she didn't think my now 12 y/o son (he was about 1 at the time) was a boy.

I met a guy at the gas station once that had a very large dog in the back of his truck. He had inherited the dog just recently after a relative died. He said everyone told him the dog was a great pyr.
I told him shave that dog! There's a standard poodle in there somewhere. Sure enough, I found out later it was a standard poodle.

I guess the old relative got too old to take care of the dog. Can you imagine the mats?

Pyrs and SP have different coats and way different heads.​
