i have nothing against vegans, not intending to make anybody offended, not all vegans but only the ones I've come across r very annoying claiming to know everything about this about that, and they r very judgmental towards people's cultures yet they themselves tell us to be open minded, me growing up in a very traditional household i grew up eating meat and vegetables i think it is completely fine, y should anybody force u to be something ur not comfortable with, just because we can live without meat does not mean i'll give it up, ugh i hate it even more when i say that i from my religion people go crazy and think that i do some voodoo, they don't even know about certain breeds of chicken yet they think that i will eat all my birdies please u don't know me like that i don't need to eat my birdies when they r my pets and not all chickens r egg laying machines that r abused, sorry for the heated words i just wanted to write so i wouldn't have to shout

do not bypass the censor, please

COMPLETELY agree. I, myself, am infact a vegetarian. HOWEVER, the type of veggie that you are talking about even drives ME insane.
However, it's not just the veggies that are that way. I've met quite a few people that eat meat that go out of their way to annoy me and tell me that my beliefs are wrong and that I should eat meat.

I just think that everyone should be able to have their own opinions/beliefs.

And that people should try to shove their beliefs down other peoples throats.

Agreed. I don't talk religion with anyone, and have taught my kids to do the same. People freak over santa,so I can imagine what goes on when the talk is of food. People used to be like that with me regarding birthing. I could care less who gives birth where and how,but for some it is a must to do it a specific way.The food we eat,the cloths we wear, the materials we use in our house....the list is endless when it comes to things you can argue about.

Me, I would avoid anyone who makes me feel bad about what I do and how I live.Avoid these types and enjoy your life.

I believe everyone is unique in his or her own way and what is right for one person may very well not be for the next. After all, that is why we are all here, this IS America "land of the free" We all came here so we could have a choice last time I knew! To each his own!

I am an omnivore. I can eat a vegitarian meal or one containing meat and be perfectly happy. I dont understand people getting freaked out by what others eat. As far as religion I keep my mouth shut even though sometimes its hard. I dont beleive anything should be forced on another. I am an animal collector. I have lots of pets, and people think I am crazy. Why would I want to have to take care and the expense of so many. Because it gives me joy. My family says its crazy I work a full time job and have a full time job at home with my animals. What better thing to do. I stay healthier being outside instead of vegitating in front of a television. I am 52 years old and most people think I am younger. I says that is because I work hard and play hard keeps me young. Why cant people just accept each other for what they are and not push their ideals on others. I know this probably doesnt make sense. Sorry just waking up so my thoughts are a little scrambled.

) Most people this day and age think if you don't live YOUR life THEIR way, there is something wrong with you. Everyone is unique. If we were all the same the world would be a very boring place. Unless of course they all owned chickens and ducks, then I would have to rethink that. Everyone has their own preferences, likes and dislikes and I agree that we shouldn't try and push our opinions and ideals on someone else to make them see things our way.

I agree. It's the reason I've put off posting in the All Beliefs Welcome thread. I have to find a way to explain it with killing myself.

Some people are very narrow minded. I used to pick up the "rescue" roosters dropped off at the feed store and bring them to my Laotian guys who work in the warehouse. They are work really hard and are supporting large extended families so the extra meat was really appreciated. I knew they were all really skilled at butchering and were devout Buddists so no bird suffered that I gave them. Then the right wing uber Christian receptionist found out they slaughtered birds sometimes as part of their religous /healing ceremonies. I was at one of these ceremonies, the bird is treated very well for a long period before so it is calm and happy, then quickly dispatched so it feels as little pain as possible. The meat isn't wasted, it is cooked and eaten. I was fine with it. But the receptionist was practically hysterical in her belief any ceremony involving animal sacrifice was satanic. I had to stop bringing the roos into work.

I still gather roos for them still, but I park my truck down the street and they get them as they leave work.

I hope it isn't "most," but maybe it's gotten that bad. NO one I knew was brought up this way. I don't even tell most people about personal preferences of this sort; it's none of their business. If they happen to discover one and start this nonsense, I leave.
