The really dark colored one is name Romeo. We have never had one with this much color on him. Most are white and once in awhile we get with with a small brown patch. We have one brown ewe,Katie. And the ram we had used in the past was white. We were tickled to see him the morning he was born. He is about a month old now. Hoping to keep him and get him some women of his own. Our sheep are katahdin (hair sheep).

Wow - They are awesome. I posted yesterday with a question and you would be perfect to answer it. I live in Thurmont MD.

I am looking to get 2 bottle baby katahdin sheep as pets. They are 1 week old. This a breeder with a great flock. He is asking $150 each for them. 1 is a ewe and the other is a wether. Do you think that price is reasonable?

Sounds a little high to me for an UNWEANED lamb.
Unless you have free milk to feed them, you'll have a lot of money tied up in them.​

$150 is a little high , in this area, (WV). Plus, like bearfoot said, the lamb milk replacer is outrageous. Unless you have access to some free milk. Are they registered?? Could be the high asking price. Ours aren't. This sheep business started about 4 years ago, when at the time, my 2 year old granddaughter wanted a couple lambs to play with. Long story short, son and his wife decided to move back to Florida, so we were stuck with the lambs. But they have grown into a fairly nice flock of sheep. We are looking to get a new ram this summer. Finally had to sell the one we had as he kept butting me and knocking me down. We are hoping to find a ram that is not white, to try and get some more color into the flock.
