some thing killing my chickens

i have dealt with just about every kind of predator you can think of here in south mississippi but this one has got me stumped .
in the last 6 days i have found 5 blue berchin marans dead one at a time go in the pin and there will be a dead brid laying under or at the bottom of the roost the only damage to body is a small hole 1 inch 1.5 inch in soft rear uder tail going in to gut area no head or kneck damage i have never seen this before at frist i thought 8 month old hen died and other hens picked the dead one but know i am shure this is some kind of predator i have moved the other brids to deffernt pin but i still have brids on ether side of the pin i removed the brids from help if you can

My best guess is some kind of weasel. They usually go or that area. Sucks something is getting them

Weasels and stoats bite at the back of the neck and suck blood out of the body. That's sounds like a very weird way to kill a chicken I have no idea what that could be.

I have heard of an animal that will kill prey and pull the inards out through the back end to eat them, if only I could remember what predator that is...

I have also heard that pheasants will do that if their cage is over-crowded.

Kept a lot of pheasants but they have never done anything like that......

Sounds fairly typical of an opossum kill. Have you tried baiting a live catch trap with part of a chicken carcass?

I agree with Sourland. I've read that is typical of Opossum kill.
