I have a roo that lives in a chicken tractor outside the main henhouse and chicken yard (due to not being able to get along with the alpha roo that lives inside the henhouse).

He couldn't stand living alone, even though there was only a chicken wire that separated him from the other chickens -- so I ended up buying him two seven month old hens from a local chicken farmer. He's had his gals for about a week now, and he's happy as a clam.

Butt -- today I went out into my organic garden to pick raspberries. There is nothing better in this world than fresh raspberry pie, unless it be eating the berries right off the bush. Since the raspberry patch is not all that big, I cherish each and every ripe berry I pick off of the canes.

As I got near the raspberry patch, what do I see?

It's that big ole' rooster boy, leading his two gals over to the berry patch, and showing them how to pick berries off of low lying canes! Of course, after he shows them how it is done, his two girls follow his lead and pick berries too.

Out of MY raspberry patch, mind you !!!!!!!!

Somebody had better tell that roo that he IS expendible ....

Oh, but he was just taking his new ladies out for breakfast like a gentleman.
Chickens have no understanding of the concept of borders.
