So my 6 month old duck is a bit of an over protective father (And when I say a bit I mean like full on attack mode) so ya if I’m in the duckling area getting them water or food she is right by the fence just staring at me and if I move to another side of the area he follows and goes where I go and then stares me down and when I try to leave he stands In front of the door and won’t leave them when you get out he chases you to the front for Then continues to peck the door for a good 5 minutes then leaves to go watch the baby’s again. Is this normal behavior?

That is weird because territorial aggression is usually most prominent with smaller/ more wild breeds like Mallards. Pekins have been bred so much they've lost a lot of their wild instincts, so seeing one acting like yours, is nonetheless abnormal, IMO.

Just like how males show males, you need to show him your the dominant one. Bring a broom or stick out with you next time, and give him a good nudge when he tries to come near you. Don't tolerate the behavior.

Ok that’s what I’ve been doing taking a broom out and nudging him when he comes near and it started the day we brought the ducklings out and he doesn’t leave thier side and he gets mad when people try to go near the ducklings. maybe it’s just he being protective?
