Someone help with breeds?

Actually, neither. I think Darwin mentioned them being found in the wild, and that they were at one time thought to be a different subspecies, but then it was found to be just a genetic variation.

:)

Hmm I have never heard that did Darwin mention whites or black shoulders?

Sorry I wasn't specific -- he mentioned black shoulders. They were once called Pavo cristatus nigripennis.

I just realized Darwin was born in 1809 so it would make sense if they appeared in the 1820's

Because most of them are just varieties from the India blue, the only thing different is their coloration, so mainly all of them have the same friendliness. All India blue and their varieties will be the same, but spaldings (cross between blue and green peafowl) might be a bit flighty with some being a bit aggressive mainly because they are more protective over hens during breeding season. Also it tends to be based on how much green blood a spalding has that determines how much nicer it is...Green peafowl are the ones that can sometimes be aggressive and that is mainly the peacock. They tend to be flightier and spook easier than India blues, but greens are not even recommended for a first time peafowl owner so I wouldn't worry about them just yet. Peafowl are as friendly as you make them, you can get them pretty friendly by working with them. All of my peafowl had never eaten out of a person's hand until I got them and worked with them and now all of them will take stuff out of my hands, and one of my peacocks likes to peck at my jeans.

The very same, go evolution!!!

If he would have believed in the word of the Lord he would have known better.

Okay I dont want to in an argument on BYC, especially since neither of us can win. Also he went to Cambridge to become a clergyman, was the religious leader while on his voyages abord the ship the Beagle, would quote the bible often, and believed God was the one making the small changes in animals, for example he believed God would make one peacock to be born a black shoulder and the rest would occur from there. He only doubted the bible's historical accuracy. He never in his life denied the existence of God, he was far more religious than I am.

Yes, like those fools who dared say that the sun does not revolve around the earth, that the earth is round, that it doesn't have some sort of shell up in the sky, that it is more than a few thousand years old.....

BTW, the Catholic church agrees with evolution. I guess they don't believe, either.
