SOMEONE HELP!!!!

What did you cut exactly... did you sterilize first?
i cut the oviduct i'm guessing, we picked an area with the least vessels and cut. yes i did sterilize as much as i could, i called my friend who is a nurse and she had a scalpel and we cleaned everything well and made a super small incision. this was her first egg so it was very small and easy to get out. i sprayed everything with vetricyn after as well. gonna start her on antibiotics tomorrow!

Prolapses happen. You can deal with them. In the future I would suggest never cutting. You might of traded one fixable problem for another one more difficult. We all learn. I hope your hen makes a full recovery. :love There is great information about dealing with prolapse on the Home page and YouTube.

i totally agree and i really didn't want to, but i felt like she would die if she couldn't get this egg out and i couldnt even find a way for it to come out with my fingers. i hope she makes it too <3

How long have you been keeping chickens? It's unusual for someone new to just grab a scalpel and get to work. I would check on her frequently since you weren't sure what was incised. Which antibiotic were you planning on.
my nurse friend did the cutting and this is my first year keeping them. duramycin is what i'll be using.
