Someone is an EE and is not telling!

Ok, now you're educating me! What do I do with what?!

Put food coloring on their vent, so that the egg gets colored by the certain coloring you put on them.

Thanks, one and all. Though my DH says the food coloring is going a little overboard, I'll try it before I get ready for church tomorrow! Now I've got to leave this fun and fold the several loads of clothes waiting for me on the back of the couch. I also get to watch the last 140 laps of the NASCAR race in Richmond.

Who has green legs? If they have a mix of genes then the legs could be dark in the shanks and you would have to look in the web between the toes for clues, or right where feathers meet leg.

Failing that watch to see who uses which nest and collect eggs more often or listen for the 'I laid an egg!' bawking and get out there quick to see who got what done.

I have been trying to catch my birds laying eggs for two weeks and have not been able to do it ! ! !

I have gotten there when the egg is still warm - - - but nobody on the nest.
They are so excited when they see me that they start SCREAMING CLUCKING to tell everybody and they all come running ! !
So nobody is ever ON the Nest when I get there

Not to spoil your night or anything.....(he he!) but I just read a thread that said the the food coloring thing didn't work because it wasn't deep enough into the vent. You have to use a syringe and squirt a little bit in there, not just brush it on. I wish I could remember the thread name because I know NOTHING about this, but I'm sure your hubby will be thrilled! I know mine would! I had him out there scrubbing the bricks in their brooder with a wire brush tonight. I think he loved it.
