Someone please help me asap.

I would definitely get him on some vitamins. Either something like Poly Vi Sol or some Nutri Drench. Vitamins always help sick and weak birds.

His toe doesn't always look like that, it was just the way he stood up this time.. If he does have gout would it be best to put him to sleep? Sounds like your quail lived a sad little life. Like prolonged suffering and I don't want that. I will be putting ACV into his water because he does seem to be drinking still. Thank you so much for all you have done. I will continue updating. I looked up gout and his feet do not look like that, yet, at least. Do you think over the next week or so, I'll be able to see if he does have gout by his feet swelling?

I'll have to see if my parents will buy any of those. They can be reluctant to spend money on the chickens :( Is there any household vitamens you know of that could work ? And can the vitamins and ACV both go in the water ?

Any complete multi human vitamins in the house? You might break one in half and sprinkle it on some hard boiled eggs. Does he like hard boiled eggs? 2 or 3 times a week with a half a vitamin for a while might help.

Gout develops over years time. Not over night. So you won't know for another year or so. If the toe was just a fluke, he may just have a vitamin deficiency or possibly he injured himself somehow and he keeps losing his balance to pain. I am just not sure since I am not there.

If you can get them down him with out aspirating him, then those will work for now. Do you have any Gerber Baby Food? Or even apple sauce? You can crush the vits and put them in 1 or 2 ml/cc's of one of these foods and load it up in a syringe and orally dose. Better than liquids. You will need to quarter these pills and only give him a quarter of both of them. An entire pill is too much for his size. If you do have applesauce or baby food, squeeze a few loads under his tongue for some calories. 1 ml at a time under the tongue or in front of the tongue.

We do not have any of those things.. he won't eat out of my hand anymore because he's really scared right now. It really seems like it is something neurological, though. He seems really out of touch with his right leg, can put pressure on it but falls over when he tries to walk. My mom is a nurse and doesn't think gout could cause him to act like this. I'm just such at a loss .. She also says if we gave him vitamins that for it to even be effective, we'd have to give it to him over a looonnggg period of time. I trust what you say over her because you know more about chickens, just thought I'd let you know, though.
I have since put ACV into his water bowl because I think he is still drinking.

Sounds like he does have some neurological issue going on. He may have hit his head on something. He could have had a stroke or he has something else going on in his brain. I have had two birds with stroke over my years and both of them did have confusion and panic at times. I would keep him in a low lit area so the light is not bright on his eyes. Get some poultry or even baby vitamins into him. Poly Vi Sol with out the Iron, for human babies is excellent. You can get this with the adult vitamins in many pharmacies. It is not expensive. About 6 drops twice a day in the mouth would do wonders for him. You might put some quite music on the radio or even a ticking clock. I have had great success with ticking clocks in hospital bird cages. The bird is very calmed by the constant ticking 24/7. Quiet music during the day will keep them calm too. If he did hit his head, me may heal over the next week or so if this is a concussion. If this is something bacterial or viral, time will tell if he survives. I just don't know. But I would keep him in a quite low lit area away from the others, feed him what EVER he will eat right now, no matter what that is. Use the ACV in the water and get vitamins into him. These are the things I would do for him if he were mine.
