I'm glad I was able to help! How is she this morning? Size of crop, appetite, weight, etc?

Good Lord, that's outrageous! Should be an office visit at $45-$65, gram stain at $25-$35 and any medications. Maybe you could find another vet?

Good luck today! FWIW, my best spent money at the vet has been in gram stains. My vet will take a sample from the mouth, put it on on side of the slide and a poop sample on the other (this way I only get charged for one stain). They disappear with the slide for about 15 minutes and come back saying whether or not they found bacteria and/or yeast. If they find yeast, they prescribe an antifungal like fluconazole or ketoconazole. If they find bacteria, and the usually find gram negative bacteria with mine, so they prescribe Baytril. Not sure what they would prescribe if they found gram positive bacteria.
While you're there, talk to them about worming her and specifically about capillary worms.
