Someone please tell me having Roo's isn't the end of the world. *PICS*

I've got 4 roos also. I had another but traded him to a friend for a kitten.

2 of the 4 are being traded for two pullets tomorrow, though

I'm hoping that having 2 roos to 13 hens will be alright... at least until next year when I get some new girls. Will be getting all sexed chicks next spring. I might go ahead and buy a couple more pullets tomorrow when I'm trading the roos back, though, just to make the ratio a little bit better for my flock. I did lose a black sex-link to the dogs a few weeks ago, so I'm short anyway

My friend got her chicks that were Buff Orpinghams, Rhode Island Reds, & Light Brahamas and they all 9 ended up being roosters! I took her roosters to free range in the horses & goats pastures. I also have 2 Araucanas young roosters in my other pasture free ranging and I have one sweet heart Bantam cochin roo in the chicken coop with 10 Americana hens. I am enjoying all of my beautiful roosters & hens & peafowls! I must monitor my roos daily for some are smaller in the pecking order and my Araucanas are chasing and pecking my little sweet Rhode Island Red! Having fun with my roosters otherwise! They sure do keep our pastures manure all scratched up, no more piles!

I am really enjoying my roos too. Here are some pics I just got last night of my cornish cross roo. Bagdad chicken mom - out of curiosity how do you manage your roos' interactions? I am wondering if there's a way to minimize fighting amongst roos and if spurs can be clipped like a toenail? Thanks!
