Someone Stole My Best Silkie Hen At a Show Today :(

Microchips are expensive, as are the scanners to scan them. I doubt show officials (who hold shows maybe once a year) are going to want to have to purchase them, much less exhibitors want to have to pay the "new" entry fees in order to put the scanners in people's hands.

Good idea, but so expensive!

The Delaware State Police refuse to do a report on "just a chicken". "Just a chicken"??? Is there anybody in Delaware who can help us with this? This just burns me up!

Guess the thieves can get away with it. Guess it's a free-for-all at poultry shows!

How much did you pay for her (including shipping)? I am sure the police are thinking of a $2 (not that they exist) laying hen or meat bird.

Explain that this is an expensive purebred exhibition bird. Not sure what the $ difference in Delaware is between misdemeanor and felony, but there is a strong chance that her worth makes this a felony.

Does the show have any sort of insurance? You have her registered for the show & you notified them about the theft. Then again what price can make up for all that work
