Someone talk me out of this...

There is a person down the street getting rid of 9 cornish hen chicks and 9 laying hen chicks, all three weeks old. I have a flock of bantams that are about 9 weeks old. Someone please assure me that I'm making the right choice not raising these chicks a few more weeks then adding them to the flock

Any guesses what a "laying hen" is?

Assuming the Cornish hens are meat birds, I would assume the others to be breeds that are raised for egg laying. That is, however, just a guess.

I would not take them. Enjoy the chicks you have. You never know what you'd be bringing home to them

I'd wonder why they were getting rid of them.

I am wondering why he got them in the first place! He says his flock is too big, but I wonder if he hatched them himself or what...
