Somersaulting sick Silkie help please..

Hello,

I have had a new Silkie for about a week, it bonked its head and now can't stand or walk. Her bum goes into the air and she flips over. Is this what's called Wry Neck? If so, what do you suggest I give to help her recover? I've given scrambled eggs with tumeric and an ice pack in her head for very short stints. If vitamins, are human vitamins ok?

It may be wry neck which is a neurological symptom of a head injury, vitamin deficiency, or some diseases. Treatment consists of giving humn vitamin E 400 IU daily along with a little vitamin B complex 1/4 tablet daily. Treat for at least 2 weeks to see if it makes a difference. Can she move her legs or stand and balance at all? I would not use ice on her head. Silkies are prone to wry neck and neurological symptoms. Getting her to eat her balanced chicken feed dry and moistened, with a little egg daily for selenium is good. If a chicken sling can get her upright and she tolerates it, that can be good. She might fight that and just need to be propped up on some rolled towels.
