We have three two day old chicks in our brooder. Up until 20 minutes ago everyone was happy, eating, drinking, sleeping, no problems! I started to hear a raucus and went to see what was up and one of the chicks' back keeps arching and it's head keeps extending over it's back with it's one leg stretched out and screaming! I can't see anything wrong, it's not caught on anything, it's not choking and it can move it's back and legs, but instead it just keeps arching over backwards (like a backflip, but unintentional) and falling. It reminds me of what would happen if it's whole body was having a charlie horse, the muscle tightening and pulling it backwards. Does anyone have any idea what's going on or what I should do?

It could have an impacted crop. It also could have mineral deficiantcy(potassium, magnesium), but if it is deficiant(sp?) already it has other issues. To work on an impacted crop you havet to give it a few drops of olive oil and very gently massage it. That is the best I know. Sry its not more.
