I have a 1 year old Buff and she was fine until this morning. The first thing that I noticed is that there seems to be something wrong with her neck. She is off balance and moves quite oddly. I felt her neck and do not see any signs of damage. She still eats but isn't the same as all of the other hens. I even happened to see her lay an egg today as well.

Here feathers are puffed and her neck seems to bulge to the right. I watched her walk earlier and noticed that her neck seems to be a little wobbly. I was doing some research and thought maybe wry neck, but still unsure. I have attached a picture and you can see how her neck seems a little odd. It kind of seems like she cannot hold her neck straight and her head is looking down.

Any info would be great help.

Thanks.

Welcome to BYC. Wry neck may be the problem. It can be the result of a head injury, a vitamin E deficiency, and due to certain diseases such as Mareks disease and others. How long has this been going on? Giving vitamin E and selenium ( a mineral found in eggs, tuna, sunflower seeds, and others,) is the usual treatment. Make sure that she gets enough to eat and drink, and this can be helped by adding water to the feed, and holding her wrapped in a towel to get her to eat 3 times daily.
