One of my younger girls, she's 10 weeks now, occasionally screams, turns her head around and fluffs at the feathers on her back, and then runs off only to do it all over again a couple of minutes later. No one else in the flock is behaving oddly so I doubt it's fleas but I have noticed that the girls all seem to have lost a little bit of weight lately.
Any ideas what's going on with her?

Have you ever treated your girls for parasites?

I would look for mites or lice....look with a good strong light around the vent and tail especially if you see nothing I would consider worming everyone

Also check the coop and run area thoroughly and see if there is anything she could have rubbed against that maybe irritated her skin or anything that could have bitten her.

Good luck because I have never heard of this one either....so start the process of elimination with the obvious,

I was also wondering if she was getting bitten by a parasite. Those bug bites hurt! I would check her out carefully. If you have any DE around, I would dust her, even if you don't find anything, just in case. See if it makes a difference in her behavior.

Blood feathers are also sensitive. If I'm petting my parrot and hit one accidentally, he'll jerk and used to put his beak on me. Now he just swings his head around at me and I avoid that spot until it grows out. I wouldn't think one would bother her just standing still, though.
