something killed all my chickens

well i figured out it was the 2 bulldogs from next door that got my chickens. now theres only one bulldog next door.

Sorry about your chickens, yes dogs will kill every chicken they see. Sss. Funny how those bad dogs just disappear.

Sorry for your loss Jake, I know how it feels. I just got the chicken hobby bug (fierce) too about 2 months ago, got 6 chickens mid June: 1 Silver laced Polish, 1 Golden Laced Polish, 2 Buff Orpingtons, and 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes. I brooded the chicks inside the house on the coffee table, girls had em all named and we picked them up every day, etc., they were pets. About 3 weeks after I moved them outside to the temporary coop (big coop and run is being built) my own dog a miniature dachshund broke in and killed 5 of them before in about 30 minutes. I almost shot the dog on the spot (he has a long list of transgressions before you fault me), but I live in the city and cooler heads prevailed. It was a terrible morning and I know exactly how you feel. But we get up and move on, I found the dachshund another home and am nursing my survivor, our favorite Buff Orp named Goldie. She has a broken toe and is just now starting to walk on it again. I also got two young Leghorn/RIR cross pullets "to keep Goldie company". That did not work out so well, LOL, as Goldie pecks on them. Anyway, long story short, I am rebuilding too. I took the temporary coop completely apart and am rebuilding it into a fortress that no dog or coon can break into using all the great ideas I've learned from haunting this site over the last month, lol. The temporary coop, I call it the Hen "Halfway House', will do to keep my three chickens until I get the main coop and run finished, then I plan to get more too!
