I was actually lurking.
I love to read the Bible and study God's word. Not good at memorizing though.
My son is attending Liberty University studying Biblical Studies. He'd like to be a Pastor in some form, as he was called into the ministry.

Joshua is my favorite book in the Bible. This is one of my favorite verses.

Even if memorizing is difficult (it is for me, too!), I find it helpful to read these verses that people love and relate to. The more we read them and become familiar with them, the more of an impact they make on us and our relationship with the Lord. Like this one, "be strong and courageous because the Lord is with you wherever you go." Wow, seriously? He is with me WHEREVER I go? Well, if I can just keep that in mind, it will be easy to "be strong and courageous!" I may not memorize the words exactly, but I bet I can remember that He is always with me, that's AMAZING!

Really neat that your son is called into ministry.

He's a very kind and compassionate person. Always optimistic. I am more of a pessimist realist, so we tend to butt heads sometimes. I'm very protective of how others treat him, but I have always expected a lot from him, which tends to be critical.
Bottom line is we have love and respect for each other, and I think that's all that matters.
