@luvthebeach Which breed is your hen laying these eggs? How old is she? Is there a rooster in with her? How long has she been laying eggs that look this way inside? How do the eggs look on the outside of that brown area?I have a couple hens that lay HUGE eggs! They are too big for an egg carton! Anyway, I cracked one open this morning and found something I have never seen before! Should I be worried?
Thanks for your help!
I believe it is one of my Cinnamon Queens, but I do have 2 red laced Wyandottes. They will be 4 years old next month. When I got them, the hatchery snuck in 2 roosters. So, my Mom took one and we kept the red lace Wyandotte. The rest of the egg looked fine. This is the 1st time I have ever seen anything like that in an egg!@luvthebeach Which breed is your hen laying these eggs? How old is she? Is there a rooster in with her? @luvthebeach I have no solutions or explanations to offer. I figured more details would help a knowledgeable member provide some sort of logical explanation. I hope it’s nothing serious.I believe it is one of my Cinnamon Queens, but I do have 2 red laced Wyandottes. They will be 4 years old next month. When I got them, the hatchery snuck in 2 roosters. Do lash eggs show up INSIDE an egg also?Hi there. Can you cut it open?
If layered, That is lash material, it's a sign of reproductive infection.
It's rare to my understanding, but it can happenDo lash eggs show up INSIDE an egg also?
It doesn't look like a quitter egg, so my guess would be either a lash egg as Nuthatched suggested, or some intestinal shedding- though that'd be a might large one!
